Jeep Meridian facelift launch confirmed in 2024

Jeep Meridian Facelift

Jeep Meridian will get modified styling tweaks, updated features can offer a new petrol engine.

Jeep India has announced that they’re giving the Meridian SUV a refresh this year. This seven-seater is essentially a three-row variant of the Compass. It competes with models like the Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, and MG Gloster in India. Interestingly, in Brazil, it goes by the name Jeep Commander.

Highlights

  1. The refreshed Meridian will receive small changes to its appearance with updated look.
  2. Added new features, like front and rear dashcams, to the mix.
  3. Brand-new gasoline engine at some point down the road.

The upcoming Jeep Meridian facelift is expected to bring subtle design tweaks, following in the footsteps of its sibling, the Compass, which received similar updates during its facelift. Anticipated changes include new front and rear bumpers, along with minor adjustments to the headlamps. Inside, we might see refreshed seat upholstery while the overall layout remains familiar.

In terms of features, the Meridian facelift is set to inherit some enhancements introduced with the Compass Night Eagle edition, such as front and rear dashcams and an air purifier. Other amenities like a panoramic sunroof, 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, and ambient lighting are expected to carry over.

Currently in India Meridian will be powered in a 2.0-litre diesel engine , paired with 6-speed manual 9-speed (optional) automatic transmission and  generate 170hp and 350Nm of torque. While a petrol engine is under consideration, based on the Compass’ lineup, the Brazil-spec Meridian features a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine. However, it’s unlikely that India will get the Wrangler’s 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.

As for pricing, the current pre-facelift Meridian ranges between Rs 33.60-39.66 lakh (ex-showroom), with ongoing benefits. With the facelift, a slight increase in price can be expected. Meanwhile, Jeep is gearing up to unveil the prices of the Wrangler facelift in India on April 22, adding to the excitement surrounding their lineup updates.
